Introduction

Working in a city like ours has enabled us to become acquainted and to penetrate the various aspects that make it such a dynamic and competitive centre from an economic, cultural and industrial viewpoint.

The desire to set up a non-profit Foundation that carries the family name stems from the need felt by my wife Anna, my son Roberto and myself for a concrete entity able to support, foster and promote education and the activities of those who wish to dedicate themselves to technical-scientific activities by launching and developing initiatives keyed to studying and making known the conditions on which progress depends in the economic, scientific, social and cultural fields.

When the Fondazione Biesse was established, the intent was to create a structure able to represent a benchmark for technical-scientific activities. Among the goals we set ourselves, preference was given to:

• carrying out of study, promotion and operative activities;
• organisation of meetings, seminars and events relating to institutional activities;
• giving of grants, prizes and scholarships to promote training activities

We hope that our commitment towards the achievement of these goals is such as to answer the requests and demand from scientific, cultural and educational Bodies and Institutions in Italy and abroad.
